Although manufactured/mobile home insurance has much in common with traditional homeowners insurance, there are differences in construction methods that can pose unique concerns for these homeowners. A typical manufactured/mobile home policy will cover your home as well as any detached structures located on the same piece of land; your personal property; and personal liability to cover bodily injury or property damage that occurs on your property to someone who does not reside with you.
FYI, manufactured home is the term the government uses for factory-built homes that were built after June 15, 1976; conversely, mobile home is the term used for homes built before this date. A modular home, by contrast, is one that is built and shipped in multiple pieces, then assembled on-site. Standard homeowners policies are used for modular homes.
